Honorary Consul Mr. Orhan Karadeniz

Honorary Consul Mr. Orhan Karadeniz was born in Istanbul in 1971. Following his education at Lycée Saint Joseph in Istanbul, he obtained his Bachelor of Science with double major in Management and Finance from the University of South Carolina, USA in 1992. In addition to his native tongue Turkish, he speaks fluent English and French.

Mr. Karadeniz has over 30 years of experience inenergy indusry working in the areas of generation, wholesale electricity trade, cross-border electricity trade, power plant construction, investment, finance and operations. Following his college education, he joined the family business of trading industrial merchandise as a Board Member and General Manager in 1992. He expanded the business into energy sector in 1996, securing Türkiye’s first private generation, wholesale, and cross-border trade licenses and establishing the company as the country’s inaugural private electricity exporter.

Mr. Karadeniz is highly experienced in high-level government relations. He has played a crucial role in policy development that has driven innovative and low-cost power generation solutions for many countries including Ghana, Mozambique, Senegal, Gambia, Lebanon, and Indonesia.

Championing economic and social development, Mr. Karadeniz has guided numerous philanthropic efforts, particularly in education, female empowerement and community development. He is the cofounder of a philanthropic organization “One World Karadeniz Foundation” which has supported over 290,000 people in 20 communities through various projects.
