ENERGY
Electrification of the population is 100% in Seychelles. Total installed capacity is 158 MW. Fossil fuels account for 86% of the total installed capacity whilst solar is 13% and wind is 1%.
ECONOMY
The Republic of Seychelles is a member of the Commonwealth of Nations. Its economy is largely based on income from tourism. The tourism sector accounts for 25% of GDP. Tuna is also among the main export items. Machinery and equipment, foodstuffs, petroleum products, chemicals and processed food products constitute Seychelles’ main import items.
