Türkiye attracts travelers from across the world for its cultural and historical sites, as well as its Mediterranean climate. As the country sits between Southeastern Europe and Western Asia, many of its attractions draw influences from both the West and the East.

Tourism in Türkiye is focused largely on a variety of historical sites, and on seaside resorts along its Aegean and Mediterranean Sea coasts. Türkiye has also become a popular destination for culture, spa, and health care. Since 2021, Türkiye is the fourth most visited country in the world.

Climate

The best time to visit Türkiye depends on the places you plan to see. The country has seven regions, and each features unique sites and itineraries. Many tourists prefer the spring, summer and fall seasons for Türkiye tours.

Activities

Despite not being the capital, Istanbul is Türkiye’s most well-known city and a major tourist destination with attractions like Hagia Sophia or the Blue Mosque; the beautiful Bosphorus Strait offers gorgeous views of the European and Asian coastlines.

Türkiye boasts one of the most stunning beaches in the world. Most beach resorts are located along the southwestern and southern coast, called the Turkish Riviera, especially along the Mediterranean coast near Antalya. Antalya is also accepted as the tourism capital of Türkiye. Major resort towns include Bodrum, Fethiye, Marmaris, Kuşadası, Didim and Alanya.

Other must see places include the ancient wonders such as Ephesus and Gobeklitepe. Türkiye also boasts a number of geographic wonders, such as the fairy chimneys of Cappadocia and the travertines of Pamukkale.
